What is Waste Management?
Waste management is the activities and actions required to manage waste from its inception to its disposal. This includes the collection, transport, treatment and disposal of waste. Waste management takes on many different forms including unsustainable practices such as landfills and incinerators as well as sustainable practices like recycling and sorting. At Inagro, we focus on a sustainable waste management system.

A Holistic Approach and Insight to Good Waste Management
Whatever we throw in our garbage cans will most-likely end up in a landfill. The landfills in Indonesia are all facing overcapacity and many of the waste piles reach extreme heights posing a threat for landslides. Therefore, it is important to gain insight on how we can practice good waste management. Good waste management will promote recycling while reducing the need for landfills and it also is an opportunity for you to reduce your carbon footprint.
Knowledge on Value-Added Products
Value-added products are goods with an enhanced value stemming from some extra process or product. These products are common in agricultural practices and are considered to be eco-friendly because they utilize the resources that are already present, minimize the need for new land use, raw materials, and other sources of waste. Instead of wasting waste, Inagro is always thinking of ways we can turn waste into a value-added product. One way we utilize waste is through creating carpentry from broken tree trunks that would otherwise be thrown away. From the broken tree trunks, our carpenters create objects such as wood furniture, signs, and more!
A Developed Interest on Sustainability!
Waste is a major environmental problem of our world today. Only considering plastic waste, Indonesia currently produces 6.8 million tons of plastic waste per year! Therefore, it is very important to learn about sustainable waste management and apply these practices in our daily lives. Through Inagro’s waste management program, we teach you the ways you can add value to your waste as well as how to properly sort your waste. Small changes can go a long way!
Increased Environmental Awareness!
Every day, Indonesia generates 175,000 tons of waste and the country’s waste is also poorly managed. Poor waste management contributes to climate change, air pollution, and damages our ecosystems and its species. Therefore, you can play a role in protecting the environment by learning about how you can reduce your waste through our waste management program and making small changes. The first step before making changes is always to make yourself aware.
